777 Mine near Flin Flon, Manitoba is HudBay Minerals’ flagship mine and went into production in 2004.

The original work completed by Cementation was a joint venture between Cementation and Aurora Quarrying. Commencing in 2000, the scope involved the development of a number of ventilation raises for the new 777 Mine. The largest and longest raise in the program was 690m long and 6m in diameter and was excavated using a diesel raise climber and a pilot and slash methodology.

In 2002, Aurora Quarrying, a well respected mine contracting company, was acquired by Cementation Canada Inc. Since that time, Cementation has completed substantial lateral and ramp development work, as well as mechanized raising and mine construction at the 777 Mine.
